PLAYERS EQUIPMNT

The top of the elbow pad should meet the bottom of the arm of the shoulder pad and extend down the forearm to the top of the glove. The elbow pad should not restrict movement of the elbow. With the elbow pads on, test the range of motion by bending the arm at the elbow, watching for restriction.

Players should have a good range of motion while wearing pants. If the player can comfortably squat and the padding remains in position, then the pants fit properly. Measure the player's waist. Select the hockey pants with corresponding size chart for that model.

Skate sizes will be different from shoe size Normal sizing for skates is typically 1-1.5 sizes smaller than your shoe size. While wearing the sock that will be worn when skating, slip your foot into the skate and gently let you toes touch the front of the skate. For a proper fit you should be able to place one finger between the inside of the boot and your heel. Walk 10-15 minutes in the skates checking comfort.

It is recommended that the Player wear CSA and HECC certified helmets. All CSA and HECC certified helmets have a sticker indicating their approval. Open your helmet to its largest setting and position on the head so that the rim is 1/4 inch above the eyebrow. Gradually begin to downsize the helmet until a comfortable snug fit is achieved

Gloves should fit like loose winter gloves over the fingers. The top of the glove needs to extend up to the forearm to the bottom of the elbow pads (except short cuff fit). The glove should offer freedom of movement in all positions without chafing/ restricting movement. Measure the distance between the fingertips and the elbow pad to determine glove size

Proper fitting leg pads would cover from the toe of the skate to mid thigh. To estimate pad length, measure from the floor to mid thigh with knees slightly bent and add 5 inches. Another method is to add these three measurements:
· Distance from the ground to the middle of the knee cap in inches.
· Distance from the middle of the knee cap to the desired height on the thigh in inches.
· Your Hockey Skate size.
These three items added up should approximately equal your Leg pad size in inches.

It is recommended that all goaltenders wear CSA and HECC certified masks. All CSA and HECC certified masks have a sticker indicating their certification. When fitting the Profile® goaltender mask, adjust the unit so that the upper perimeter of the frontal component is 1/4 inch above the eyebrow. For a proper fit, make sure all straps are fastened so that the chin cup fits snugly against the chin and the mask achieves a snug fit.
